Hosted Blog DNS: Squarespace

Add the CNAME record for your Grandranker hosted blog in Squarespace Domains.

Point your blog subdomain (e.g. blog.yourdomain.com) at Grandranker with one CNAME record. New to hosted blogs? Start with the Hosted Blog guide.

Add a new custom record only. Do not change Squarespace's own defaults for your root domain, www, email or verification — editing those can take your site offline.

How to Connect

In Grandranker, go to Integrations → Hosted Blog, enter your blog subdomain (e.g. blog.yourdomain.com) — never www or your root domain, that takes your site offline.
Leave the screen open. It shows the Host and Target and checks DNS automatically.
Open Squarespace Domains, select your domain.
Choose DNS in the side panel, scroll to custom records.
Select Add record, choose CNAME for Type.
Enter the Host in Name, the Target in Data.
Keep the default TTL and save.
Back in Grandranker, status moves Not connected → Provisioning DNS + SSL… → Live on its own; SSL issues automatically. Once Live, published articles appear on your blog.

Troubleshooting

Status stays on "Provisioning DNS + SSL…"

Squarespace can take 24–48 hours to publish. Leave the page open — Grandranker keeps checking and flips to Live on its own.

The record disappeared

Squarespace removes custom records that conflict with a built-in one. Make sure nothing else uses the same Name.
