Hosted Blog DNS: Cloudflare

Point a blog subdomain at Grandranker from Cloudflare DNS, automatically or by hand.

You need: DNS access in Cloudflare, plus the Host/Target values on the Hosted Blog screen (copyable).

How to Connect

Skip the manual steps: click Connect Cloudflare on the Hosted Blog screen and we create the CNAME for you (DNS edit permission only, no credentials stored). Use that or the steps below — not both.

In Grandranker, Integrations → Hosted Blog, enter your blog subdomain. Not www, not your root domain — that takes your site offline.
Keep the screen open — it shows Host/Target and checks DNS automatically.
Sign in to Cloudflare, select the domain containing your blog subdomain.
DNS → Records → Add record.
Choose CNAME.
Host goes in Name, Target goes in Target.
Set Proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud), leave TTL on Auto, save.
Back in Grandranker, status moves Not connected → Provisioning DNS + SSL… → Live on its own. Then the screen links to your blog and published articles appear there automatically.

Troubleshooting

Status stays on "Provisioning DNS + SSL…"

Usually the orange cloud. Set Proxy status to DNS only — while proxied, Cloudflare answers for the hostname and our certificate can't issue.

The blog shows a Cloudflare error page (521, 522, 526)

Same cause. Switch to DNS only, reload after a minute.

Cloudflare won't save the record

Confirm you're editing the right zone, and no other record (CNAME, A or AAAA) already uses that name. Delete or rename it first.
