Setup & Google Business Profile
Connect your Google Business Profile and set up Local SEO.
Local SEO in Grandranker is built around your Google Business Profile (GBP). Once connected, Grandranker pulls in your locations, reviews and profile details, and uses them for rank tracking, review management, posts and optimization scoring.

Connect your Google Business Profile
Setup takes about two minutes:
- Click Connect Google Business Profile. You'll find the button in the onboarding flow, in the "Finish setting up" checklist, or on the Profile page under Local SEO.
- Sign in with the Google account that manages your Business Profile and grant access.
- Grandranker fetches your business locations from Google in the background. This usually takes a few seconds. If nothing appears, you'll see a Try again button, plus a Reconnect Google option in case the connection didn't complete.
Use the Google account that has owner or manager access to the Business Profile. If you sign in with an account that doesn't manage any listings, no locations will show up.
Choose your locations
After connecting, you pick which location(s) to track:
- Select one or more locations from the list. Each card shows the business name, category, address and city so you can tell similar listings apart.
- One selected location is marked primary. The primary location is the default for keyword tracking and scans.
- Your plan includes a set number of active locations. If you select more than your plan allows, you'll see: "Your plan includes up to X active locations. Upgrade to activate more."
Grandranker uses the selected profile to pre-fill your business details (business name, industry, city and region) so you don't have to enter them again. It only fills fields you haven't already set.
If your listing has no website
A Domain in Grandranker needs a website URL. If your Google listing doesn't have one, you'll be asked to add it: "This listing has no website. Add yours." Enter your site's URL to finish setup.
If you don't use Google Business Profile
You can click I don't use Google Business Profile during onboarding and continue with just your website URL. You can connect GBP later at any time. Most Local SEO features (reviews, posts, optimization score, profile protection) need the connection to work.
The setup checklist
Until setup is complete, the Local SEO home shows a Finish setting up card with these steps:
- Connect Google Business Profile
- Select your location
- Run your first ranking scan
- Connect Search Console (optional)
The checklist disappears once the required steps are done.
How syncing works
Grandranker syncs your GBP data (locations and reviews) automatically once a day. You can also trigger a manual sync from the Profile page.
Editing your profile from Grandranker
On the Profile page you can edit your listing directly: business name, phone, website, description, business hours, primary category and up to 9 additional categories. Changes are pushed to Google. Google limits how fast a profile can be edited, so if you make many edits in a row you may see: "Too many profile edits. Wait a minute and try again."
FAQ
Can I track more than one location?
Yes, up to your plan's location cap. Switch between profiles across the Local SEO pages.
Why do I see "This website is already registered on another account"?
Each website can only belong to one Grandranker account. If your site is already registered elsewhere (for example by an agency or a teammate on a separate account), contact support to sort it out.
Can I disconnect Google later?
Yes. You can disconnect the Google Business Profile connection from the Profile page. Rank tracking by keyword continues to work, but reviews, posts, profile editing and protection require a connection.
