Google Search Console

Connect GSC to track impressions, clicks and indexing.

Google Search Console (GSC) is Google's own report of how your site performs in search: which queries show your pages, how often people click, and at what position. Connecting it to Grandranker brings that data into the Analytics page and powers Rank Tracking.

What you need: a Google account that is a verified owner or user of your site in Search Console. Grandranker requests read-only access. It never changes anything in your Google account.

How to Connect

  1. Open Analytics in Grandranker and click Connect Search Console (or Connect GSC on the Search Console tab). You can also connect during the onboarding walkthrough.
  2. You are sent to Google's sign-in screen. Choose the Google account that owns your site in Search Console and approve access.
  3. Back in Grandranker, pick a property under Select a Property. A property is a site Google has confirmed you own. If your account has exactly one verified property, Grandranker selects it automatically.
  4. Click Continue. The Search Console tab now loads your clicks, impressions, CTR and position data.

To change the property later, open the settings menu (gear icon) on the Search Console tab and choose Change Property. Disconnect in the same menu removes the connection.

What the connection powers

  • Search performance: organic clicks, impressions, average CTR and average position, with daily charts and country breakdowns.
  • Queries and pages: the exact search terms and URLs Google showed, with per-row clicks, impressions, CTR and position.
  • Rank Tracking: daily position snapshots for the keywords you track are built from GSC data.

Troubleshooting

"No verified sites found"

Grandranker can only read data for a site your Google account has verified. This appears when the site was never added to Search Console, when it is verified under a different Google account, or when your account has no access to the property. Add and verify the site at search.google.com/search-console. Or click Use a different Google account and reconnect with the account that owns it. Then click Check again.

A property shows "not verified"

The property was added in Search Console but ownership was never confirmed, so Google returns no data for it and Grandranker won't let you select it. Finish verification in Search Console first. A domain property needs a TXT record at your DNS provider.

"Google won't share data for [your property]"

The connected Google account isn't a verified owner or user of the selected property. Verify ownership in Search Console. Or choose another property you have verified. Or connect the Google account that owns it. Reconnecting the same account will not change this.

"Search Console isn't finished connecting"

You authorized Google but never picked a property, so no search data can be loaded. Return to the Search Console tab and finish the property selection step.

"Google connection expired"

Your Google authorization expired or access was removed. Click Reconnect Google and approve access again. Your selected property and history are kept.

Recent days look empty

GSC data is typically 2-3 days behind. The most recent days in the performance chart fill in as Google publishes them. This is a Google-side delay, not a sync problem.
