Integrations

Shopify

Publish blog posts to your Shopify store.

The Shopify integration publishes Grandranker articles as blog posts on your Shopify store. It only touches your store's blog. Products, orders, and themes are never modified.

The Shopify connect wizard in Grandranker

There are three ways to connect, depending on how you found Grandranker:

  • Shopify App Store: if you installed the Grandranker app from the App Store, your store is already connected. Open Grandranker from your Shopify admin to pick the blog it publishes to. No setup is needed in Grandranker itself.
  • One-click connect: enter your store URL in Grandranker and approve the connection on Shopify.
  • Custom app wizard: a guided in-app wizard that walks you through creating a small Shopify app in your own store. Takes about 5 minutes.

What you need: at least one blog set up in your Shopify store, and the store owner role. The integration requests the read_content, write_content, and read_products scopes.

How to Connect

One-click connect

  1. In Grandranker, open Integrations → Add New Integration at app.grandranker.com/integrations/create and pick Shopify.
  2. Enter your Store URL (e.g. yourstore.myshopify.com; a custom domain like yourstore.com works too). Find your .myshopify.com domain under Settings → Domains in your Shopify admin. If Grandranker already detected your store's domain, it's pre-filled.
  3. Click Connect with Shopify. You'll approve a read/write blog permission on Shopify, then come back to Grandranker.
  4. Back in Grandranker, click Fetch Blogs, pick the Blog to publish to, set the Default Status (Draft or Published), and click Save & Connect.

Custom app wizard

If your account uses the custom-app flow, the wizard walks you through each step with videos:

  1. Get your store name: in Shopify admin, go to Settings → Domains and copy your .myshopify.com URL.
  2. Create a Shopify app: in Shopify admin: Apps → Develop apps → Build apps in Dev Dashboard → Create app. Name it anything, e.g. "Grandranker".
  3. Set the App URL: in your app's Configuration, paste the App URL the wizard shows you.
  4. Set the Redirect URL: on the same page, paste the wizard's Redirect URL into Allowed redirection URL(s).
  5. Set content permissions: under API Access → Scopes, paste read_content, write_content, read_products, then click Done → Release and confirm.
  6. Install the app: in the Dev Dashboard, open your app's Overview and click Install app, then confirm in your store.
  7. Copy your credentials: in the app's Settings, copy the Client ID and Client Secret, paste them into the wizard, and click Connect to Shopify.

After connecting, pick your blog and default status as in the one-click flow.

Publishing & Verifying

Published articles appear in your Shopify admin under Online Store → Blog posts, in the blog you selected. With Default Status set to Draft, posts arrive hidden so you can review them before making them visible; set to Published, they go live immediately.

The integration page shows your connection details: store name, domain, connection date, and granted scopes.

Troubleshooting

"No blogs found. Make sure your store has a blog."

Your store needs at least one blog before Grandranker can publish. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Blog posts → Manage blogs and create one, then click Fetch Blogs again.

"That doesn't look like a .myshopify.com domain"

Copy the whole URL that ends in .myshopify.com (e.g. na70yq-bn.myshopify.com) from Settings → Domains. Not your custom storefront domain. Pasting an admin.shopify.com/store/... URL also works. Grandranker normalizes it.

I installed from the App Store but Grandranker asks nothing

That's expected. App Store installations are managed by Shopify. Open Grandranker from your Shopify admin to pick the blog it publishes to. Grandranker will never ask App Store users for a shop domain or custom-app credentials.

"Grandranker was uninstalled from your Shopify store"

The App Store app was removed. Reinstall the Grandranker app from the Shopify App Store, then open Grandranker from your Shopify admin to pick the blog again.

The custom-app connect fails on the last step

Re-check the Client ID and Client Secret in your app's Settings (the secret starts with shpss_). Also confirm you released the scope changes (Done → Release) and installed the app to your store before connecting.
