Hosted Blog DNS: GoDaddy

Point your blog subdomain (e.g. blog.yourdomain.com) at Grandranker with one CNAME record. New to hosted blogs? Start with the Hosted Blog guide.

How to Connect

1. In Grandranker, go to Integrations → Hosted Blog, enter your blog subdomain (e.g. blog.yourdomain.com) — never www or your root domain, that takes your site offline.
2. Leave the screen open. It shows the Host and Target and checks DNS automatically.
3. Sign in to GoDaddy, open Domain Portfolio, select your domain.
4. Open DNS → Add New Record.
5. Select CNAME for Type.
6. Enter the Host in Name, the Target in Value.
7. Keep the default TTL and save.
8. Back in Grandranker, status moves Not connected → Provisioning DNS + SSL… → Live on its own; SSL issues automatically. Once Live, published articles appear on your blog.

Troubleshooting

GoDaddy says the record already exists

Often a parked-page A record for blog. Edit it, or delete it and add the CNAME.

Status stays on "Provisioning DNS + SSL…"

Check the saved record matches the exact Target, with no trailing text or http://. GoDaddy usually publishes within an hour.

You only see "Domain forwarding"

Forwarding is not DNS. Remove it and add a real CNAME under DNS → Records.
