Onboarding Walkthrough
Set up your first website, keywords and content plan step by step.
Onboarding takes about five minutes. You answer six short steps about your business. Grandranker then researches keywords, builds a 30-day content calendar, and starts writing your first article automatically. Most fields are pre-filled by AI, so your main job is to check the suggestions and correct anything that's off.
Why the details matter: your keywords and articles are built from the answers you give here.
Step 1: What's your website?
Enter your website URL and click Continue. Grandranker analyzes the site to detect your target audience, competitors, and core business value proposition, then pre-fills the rest of onboarding for you.
If the analysis can't reach your site, you'll see "We could not pre-fill your business details from that website." You can fix the URL and retry, or click Skip and fill in details manually to enter everything yourself in the next steps.
Step 2: Tell us about your business
Review and complete four fields:
- Business Name: how your brand is referred to in content.
- Content Language: the language your articles are written in. Changing it regenerates the business description in the new language.
- Target Country: the market your keywords and search data target. Picking a language suggests a matching country, but your own choice always wins.
- Industry / Niche: pick the closest match from the list.
- Business Description: needs at least 50 characters (up to 2,000), describing what you actually sell and for whom.
If your site couldn't be reached during analysis, a warning tells you the pre-filled values are a best guess. Check every field before continuing.
Step 3: Who is your target audience?
Add 2-7 audience segments (for example "Small business owners" or "CTOs"). Grandranker suggests segments automatically; use AI Suggest to generate more, or type your own and press Enter. At least two segments are required to continue.
Step 4: Who are your competitors?
Add up to 7 competitors as company names or domain URLs. Suggestions load automatically, and AI Discover Rivals finds more. At least one is required.
Step 5: What pain points do you solve?
List up to 7 problems your customers have that you solve.
Step 6: Connect your blog
Two optional but recommended fields:
- Sitemap URL: usually at
/sitemap.xmlor/sitemap_index.xml. Grandranker reads it to understand your existing pages. - Blog URL: your blog index (e.g.
/blog), not a single post. Generated articles insert links back to this URL so readers can find more of your content.
Grandranker tries to auto-detect both. Double-check the values, then click Finalize Setup.
Generating your plan
You'll land on a progress screen while Grandranker builds everything:
- Capturing a website screenshot
- Generating keyword ideas with AI
- Estimating search volume & difficulty
- Scoring relevance & opportunity
- Saving keywords to your account
- Building your 30-day content calendar
- Starting your first article
While you wait, you can already connect your CMS. If Grandranker detected your platform (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and others), it offers the matching integration right on this screen. See the Integrations overview for every option.
When generation finishes, you're shown your personalized growth plan and then continue to the Dashboard. If your website isn't connected yet, a banner on the Dashboard reminds you to connect it so articles can be published.
Next steps after onboarding: connect Google Search Console so ranking progress is measured, and review your keyword pool under Keywords.
