Everything to know about Google AI Overviews and this tool.
AI Overviews are AI-generated summaries that appear at the top of Google search results for many queries, powered by Google's Gemini model. They cite a handful of source URLs alongside the generated answer.
When an AI Overview is present, Google pushes the classic 10 blue links down — sometimes below the fold. Pages cited inside the AI Overview get visibility; pages that are not cited lose clicks. Knowing whether a keyword triggers an AI Overview tells you whether you need to optimize for AI citation, not just classical ranking.
We query live Google SERPs through DataForSEO using your selected country and device. AI Overviews are personalized and can vary slightly per user, but the trigger signal (present / not present) and the list of cited sources are reliable.
Three things matter most: (1) you already rank in the top organic results for the keyword, (2) your page directly and concisely answers the question, (3) your content has strong E-E-A-T signals — author bio, schema, sources. Use our GEO Score Checker for a 0-100 readiness score.
AI Overviews are still rolling out and are gated by query type, user location, search history, and Google's confidence threshold. The same keyword may trigger an Overview today and not tomorrow.
